  • Installfests — No news.

Other Business

  • News — There's a PHP conference in San Francisco this week. There'll be a "Linux in Schools" talk at PenLUG in Redwood City on Thursday. On Oct. 7th, there'll be a talk on DJ'ing and Music with Linux at SVLUG in Mountain View. And LUGOD's next general meeting will be on Oct. 19th, with the folks from Virtualmin (makers of Webmin).
  • New Bank Account — We've received checks for our new bank account with Golden1.
  • Financial Report — $16.04 in voluntary dues were collected. A check for $9.00 (from the Dos Coyotes fundraiser earlier in the year) was received at our PO Box. Discussion of spending caps was on the agenda, but was postponed to a future meeting.
  • Elections — Officer nominations opened at this meeting. They will close prior to the November 16th meeting, at which point elections will begin. At tonight's meeting, Nick Schmalenberger nominated Andrew Roach for typescript (secretary), and Greg Fitzgerald nominated Bill Kendrick for root (president).

  • Joe Cooper and Jamie Cameron, co-founders of Virtualmin Inc., talked about Xen and cloud computing.
