LUGOD at the 2007 Whole Earth Festival
What Is It?
The Whole Earth Festival
is "an annual student run event that brings over 30,000 people together
to discover and celebrate sustainable and conscious living on Planet Earth."
It is held in the 'quad' at
UC Davis.
LUGOD has exhibited at the previous festivals:
2002,
2003,
2004,
2005.

Whole Earth Festival 2007 took place on:
- Friday, May 11th, 12pm - 10pm (booth until 6pm?)
- Saturday, May 12th, 9am - 10pm (booth until 6pm?)
- Sunday, May 13th, 9am - 6pm
Nick Schmalenberger organized 2007's LUGOD booth @ WEF.
Our Purpose:
- To talk to people about Linux and Open Source, and get the word out
about LUGOD and the other local LUGs
- To hand out pamphlets containing information about LUGOD, Linux and
Open Source
(for example, these
handouts)
- To hand out CDs containing useful software:
- Nick Schmalenberger
Organizer. Volunteered his truck to deliver and remove supplies.
Staffed the booth.
- Bryan Richter
Staffed the booth. Brought a laptop.
- Alex Mandel
Staffed the booth. Helped with teardown.
Donated 500 sheets of 30% recycled paper, and printing time on his
laser printer, to create flyers and handouts. Arranged to store
materials on campus (near the Quad). Provided a furniture dolly
to facilitate the movement of materials.

Staffed the booth.

Helped move gear for setup.

Burned discs for handouts.

Maintained web page for WEF project. Created printable content for
handouts.
