KDE 3.2 - A User's Perspective

KStars

KStars includes 40,000 stars, 13,000 deep-sky objects, all 8 planets, the Sun and Moon, and thousands of comets and asteroids.

The first thing you'll want to do is set your location.

You can search through thousands of objects to look at.

"What's Up Tonight?" shows you what objects you can see from a particular location at a particular time.

You can see some objects close up. Here is Jupiter and its moons!

Adjust the time step and click 'Play' to follow an object around into the future.

Check out our Solar System.

Track objects' altitude vs. time using a handy graph.

The Script Builder lets you create simple programs in Kstars.

KStars can even control motorized telescopes!
