2008.02.18 Meeting Notes

Location

Davis Public Library

Project Reports

  • Demo — No news.

  • Installfests — The last Installfest was January 26th, and 3 people had installs done. The next Installfest is scheduled for this Sunday, March 2nd. Visit www.lugod.org/if to RSVP. Contact if@lugod.org or post to the 'vox-if' mailing list for more information, or if you'd like to volunteer for future IFs.

  • LERT — No LERT calls since last meeting. As usual, send email to lert@lugod.org if you need emergency Linux help.

  • Library — We're still planning on trying to donate the LUGOD library to the Yolo and/or Sacramento county library systems. Someone needs to contact them to find out if they're interested. Most of our books are still informative (not obsolete).

Other Business

  • Yolo County Child Development Conference - LUGOD is planning to have a booth at this conference, which takes place on Saturday, April 26th at the Veterans Memorial Center (next door to the Davis Public Library). It costs $60 for a 6-foot exhibitors booth, and the deadline to sign up is February 26th. Some attendees of the meeting showed interest in attending. A table and chairs are provided, so all we'll need to bring is volunteers and handouts.

  • LUGOD sign - The large laminated LUGOD sign has been discarded, since it became too dirty to recover. We can have a new one made somewhere (such as Kinkos) for a reasonable price. Getting a vinyl sign that's wide (versus squarish, like the old one) seems preferred. Something like 18" x 3'.

  • Whole Earth Festival - Whole Earth Festival will take place at UC Davis in May (around Mother's Day). We may have missed the deadline to sign up (Nick S. says it was April 1st). If we can go, Nick can supply a table.

  • Financial Report — $0.00 in voluntary dues were collected.
