  • Library — The library has received several new donations of books. Send email to librarian@lugod.org if you'd like to borrow any books. (See www.lugod.org/library )

Other Business

  • Officer Nominations — Nominations for LUGOD Officers opened today, and close at our next meeting:

    • Ryan Castalluci was nominated for sys by Henry House and accepted on the spot;
    • Henry House was nominated for root and /dev/null by Ryan Castalluci and accepted both nominations on the spot;
    • there were no nominations for typescript.

    To nominate someone (you may nominate yourself), send an email to typescript@lugod.org.

  • Financial Report — $13.75 in voluntary dues were collected.

Presentation

  • Bill Pollock, founder and owner of No Starch Press, gave a fascinating, personal account of the current state of the computer-book industry, how techincal books are produced and sold, and what No Starch Press has been doing lately.
