Committee Reports

  • PPP How To - No change.

  • Resnet How To - No change.

  • Tax Exempt Club Status - No change.

  • Farmer's Market - We're planning on attending the 18th of September. Contact Hans Uhlig for information.

  • Ambassador to other LUGs - SVLUG had a meeting last week, their next will be in October. Wednesday is a Linux User Group of Sacramento meeting. Heather Stern, member of SVLUG, will be doing a presentation on X-Window. LUGS's next installfest is September 18th.

Other Business

  • The LUGOD library page of our website has been redone, and is now up to date.

  • Financial Report - We collected $27.50 in voluntary dues. Our account now holds $307.80.

  • We raffled off an O'Reilly T-shirt. Alan Miller won.
  • LUGOD members are now able to get 20% discount on O'Reilly books.

  • The next meeting with Davis Community Network (DCN) on Wednesday, September 8th at 5:30pm. We will be helping them install Linux on some refurbished PC's.

  • Bill Kendrick is helping foster kittens!


  • Bill Kendrick demonstrated using The GIMP, an image editing program for X-Window, as well as other useful graphics tools for Linux. Thanks to Alan Miller for donating use of his new dual-Celeron machine.
