Opera
  • Opera Software founded in 1995

  • Platform-independent kernel (rendering engine):
    • Unix (Linux/QNX/Solaris)
    • Windows
    • Mac
    • BeOS
    • CANAL+ (set-top boxes)

  • Opera on the Zaurus fits in 4MB, but includes the full Opera 5.0 rendering engine

  • Will include plug-in support (for Flash, PDF, etc.)

  • Mostly uses Qtopia libraries, but also accesses Qt/Embeded and even the Embedix Linux kernel directly, for speed.
