- GnuPG. Open source
implementation of the OpenPGP protocol.
- Open access to original PGP.
Includes international versions of PGP (less important today with
the relaxation of U.S. regulations restricting the export of
cryptography products.)
- Official PGP. The commercial
product owned by Network Associates (free product also available).
- Original PGP at
MIT. Zimmermann started his work here at MIT, and today they
distribute the noncommercial version of Network Associates' product.

- OpenSSH. Secure shell, a
cryptographically protected replacement for telnet and rsh, based on the SSH
protocol.
- SSH. A "freely" available
commercial version of SSH.
- BestCrypt. Filesystem
encryption. Source code available.

System), which is based on NFS.
