LUGOD Dinner Party

Symposium Restaurant, Davis

Photos by Bill Kendrick

Since we couldn't use the room at the Davis Library, and needed to rest up after Whole Earth Festival and the Government Technology Conference (where we staffed booths for three days straight, each time), we decided to have a presentation-less and agenda-less social event at Symposium restaurant on East 8th Street in Davis.

About 20 people attended. Most then wandered downtown to Baskin Robins for icecream afterwards.

Even though it wasn't a typical meeting, we still put out 'new members' forms and a small 'free stuff' table with give-aways!

We had some left-over Knoppix discs from GTC, and still had a few Oracle9i sets from the April 21st meeting.

Far row: Rhonda Bailey, Jeff Newmiller, Mike Simons. Close row: Pete Salzman, Stephen Helms, Michael Wenk and Jim Maroun (a new member!)

Left (back to front): Marc Hasbrouck, Ryan Castelluci, Dmitry Ivanov. Right (back to front): Lee Welter, Melissa Hardenbrook.

Doug Barbieri hooks up his Linux laptop to some power in the back of the room. (He was rebuilding his kernel.)

Emily Stumpf and Daphne Pareas migrate to table 1.
