Meeting Minutes

Francois Gouget
CodeWeavers CrossOver Office & Plugin

Davis Library

Photos by Bill Kendrick

A fairly large crowd showed up...

KDE 2 on a Debian GNU/Linux box. Icons for Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Apple QuickTime are seen on the desktop. Some icons for Microsoft Office files are seen in the Konqueror file manager.

KDE Trashcan, KDE Home folder, Internet Explorer, Quicktime

Francois Gouget of CodeWeavers, starting his presentation.

Francois talks about Wine ("Wine is not an Emulator"), which CrossOver Office and CrossOver Plugin are based upon.

(The presentation was done with Microsoft PowerPoint, shown here running under Crossover Office!)
CrossOver Plugin playing a trailer of "Lord of the Rings" inside Mozilla under Linux.

More Francois.

Internet Explorer 5.0 running under KDE on Linux, thanks to CrossOver Office. Seen is the standard "The page cannot be displayed error" from IE.

Francois Gouget from CodeWeavers, answering questions about Wine and CrossOver.

A blurry photo of Microsoft Outlook running under Linux, thanks to CrossOver Office.

Installing new browser plugins using CrossOver Plugin is easy! As shown here, the actual Windows installer program runs, thinking it's on a Windows machine, not on a Linux box running Wine!

Apple's QuickTime plugin, running on Mozilla under Linux, thanks to CrossOver Plugin. Shown is a QuickTime VR 3D presentation.

Macromedia's Shockwave plugin, running on Mozilla under Linux, thanks to CrossOver Plugin.

Francois' presentation was displayed with PowerPoint. But, of course, it was running under Linux, thanks to CrossOver Office! ;^)
