We're pleased to announce that speakers have been confirmed for our next two meetings.
This month (Nov. 18) [http://www.lugod.org/meeting/] (at Explorit [http://www.lugod.org/meeting/explorit/on.php]) we welcome LUGOD member Micah Cowan [http://micah.cowan.name/] back to Davis, to speak about his Plines [http://niwt.addictivecode.org/Plines] project, a framework for building Unix shell applications (which he's using to create Niwt [http://niwt.addictivecode.org/], a wget alternative).
And next month (Dec. 16) [http://www.lugod.org/meeting/upcoming/#2013.12.16] (back at the public library [http://www.lugod.org/meeting/library/on.php]), Professor Sameer Verma [http://verma.sfsu.edu/] from San Francisco State University will bring us up to date with the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) [http://one.laptop.org/] project.
(Also, don't forget to send your nominations for our four elected officer positions [http://www.lugod.org/members/officers/] to our secretary [mailto:typescript@lugod.org] before November's meeting! You may nominate yourself.)
