News
- AT&T sues Microsoft over sound compression codec patent infringment.
- Four websites get 50% of all surfing time in the world: AOL, Yahoo!,
Microsoft and Napster
- The remaining works of Douglas Adams (creator of "Hitchiker's Guide to
the Galaxy," who passed away recently) will be published later this year.

Project Reports
- Demo - The next demo will be July 21st at the Davis Food Co-Op.
- Installfests - The next installfest will be held at Z-World
in the 3rd week of June.
Other Business
- Ice Cream FUNdraiser for EFF - LUGOD will be holding an
ice cream "FUNdraiser" to help raise money for the
Electronic Frontier Foundation. It will be held at
Ben & Jerry's in Davis on Wed. June 13th.
Robin Gross, an EFF Attorney will be there.
- Financial Report - $94.50 in voluntary dues were
collected.
- Raffle - Bill Alexander won a copy of Borland's "Kylix"
development software!
Presentation
- Anders Ohlsson of Borland Software Corporation demonstrated "Kylix,"
a Rapid Application Development tool for Linux, similar to Delphi and
C++ Builder for Windows. It combines a visual design environment,
editor, compiler, debugger, database connectivity, web development
capabilites, and more.
