- IBM announced Linux has been ported to their new 64bit PowerPC
architecture ("Power-3")
- IBM announced a massive Tux-based, 1960s-style Linux ad campaign
- Sanyo announced a Linux-based PDA is in the works
Committee Reports
- Demo - Next demos will be Sat. March 10th. Cory from Border's
has left, because his position has been cut, company-wide!
- DCN - LUGOD held an Intro-to-Linux class on March 5th.
About 20 people signed up, and most attended. We used DemoLinux,
a version of Linux that boots and runs off of CDROM (no installation
required).

- Mar. 10th - LUGOD holds Linux demo at Borders in Davis.

- Installfests - The next Installfest will be Sunday, March
18th.

Other Business
- Financial Report - $46.64 in voluntary dues were
collected.
- Yopy - Chris DiBona brought a prototype "Yopy" (Samsung's ARM-based,
Linux-based PDA)
- ISDN Modem - Bill Kendrick gave away an ISDN modem to whoever
wanted it.
- Netaverse - Netaverse send a collection of Win4Lin CDs and
a t-shirt, which we gave away.
