WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT CRASH COURSE: PART 1
Wednesday
05/29/02
========================================
Approaching website development at the source code level, the first segment
will focus on client-side methodologies to expedite deployment. (No
graphical "paint-by-numbers kits" or similar crutches will be utilized;
server-side methodologies will be addressed in a more advanced course.)
Essential HTML flavored with JavaScript routines and related techniques
will enable participants to begin crafting their websites on the spot.
Experienced developers are welcome and encouraged to attend and assist
newbies progress.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT CRASH COURSE: PART 2
Wednesday
06/26/02
========================================
The second segment concentrates primarily on file transfer procedures to a
webserver with limited fine-tuning of participant websites-in-progress as
apropos. Survivors will receive a shareware FTP program which can be
operated directly from a floppy disk (without having to be installed on a
system proper), thus enabling on-the-spot uploads from any machine from
which the evolving developer may be cranking out code. Additional resources
for further skills development will be conveyed.

"The Gimp" as "alt.Photoshop"
Wednesday
07/31/02
=============================
Bill Kendrick from the Linux Users Group of Davis (LUGOD -
http://www.lugod.org) presents "The Gimp" as a cost-effective (free!)
alternative to Photoshop by which to develop superb graphics for the Web
(and beyond!). (He also uses "The Gimp" to develop graphics for his own
http://newbreedsoftware.com website.) "The Gimp" (http://www.gimp.org) is
available for both Linux and Windows.
