http://linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CVS-RCS-HOWTO.html.  Not super-simple, but you 
really have to learn some details in order to use it.

AFTER you understand the basics of CVS, take a look at Cervisia.  This is
an excellent KDE front-end.
