Yeah, I've still got that directory, and in .../kernels/drivers/sound/, I see:

  -rw-r--r--  1 root root 14591 Dec  1 03:30 sb.o
  -rw-r--r--  1 root root 85632 Dec  1 03:30 sound.o
  -rw-r--r--  1 root root  9160 Dec  1 03:30 soundcore.o
