[vox-tech] smbmount - inheriting owner and group attributes

I'm smbmounting shares from one RedHat(5.0) box to another(8.0). I would like to preserve the owner and group attributes from the box that is exporting the shares.

The relevant lines from /etc/fstab all look like this:

//oxygen/pyDes /mnt/pyDes smbfs credentials=/home/osiris/sambacreds,uid=osiris,gid=peoples,fmask=775,dmask=775 0 0

Is there a value for the 'uid' property that will preserve the existing owner attributes?
