   #define _POSIX_PATH_MAX 255


   #include <limit.h>

which, on Linux, includes

   #include <bits/posix1_lim.h>

but on Linux, the path can actually be much longer (it may be
variable-length?)  I'm not sure if 255 includes NUL or not.
