Subject: [vox-tech] voodoo 3

i meant to mention this when micah brought up the voodoo3, but i got busy.
here's the scoop.

voodoo 3 CAN render in a window. there are currently 2 sets of drivers
under development, both being supervised by 3dfx as an open source project.

3dfx bacon lettuce and tomato.o:
no dri. can't render in a window; must be in a full screen.

3dfx spicy chicken sandwich.o:
newer, as in, not finished. has dri / window rendering.

why would anyone have the BLT over the spicy chicken sandwich?!?

1. the spicy chicken sandwich doesn't support things like quakegl,
quake 2, unreal tourny and soldier of fortune. quake 3 does work,
thanks to lokigames. this is simply because the driver isn't finished
yet.

2. currently, the spicy chicken sandwich is broken under xfree86 4.0.1, but
people are working on it.

note, i've never run the chicken sandwich, so all this is based on what i've
read from daryll strauss's website (the guy in charge of the 3dfx drivers).
