Francisco start-up building next
generation avatar-based massively multi-user 3D environments for music fans.
Their team is a fun, professional, ambitious and experienced group looking
for enthusiastic hard-working people who are excited about new challenges.
They
are seeking a Sr. Unix System Administrator with
extensive Production Systems experience. Primary responsibility will be to
deploy and run our production systems running Fedora Core. Additional work with
include supporting development and staging systems.
They
support a 24/7 environment, but work hard to make sure that you won't get paged
at 3AM.
The work environment is aggressive, not crazy.
Responsibilities
include:
+
General Systems Administration
+
OS installation and configuration
+
Provide 24/7 support of the production environment
+
Real-time problem diagnosis/resolution
+
Software installation/configuration
+
Project-based system implementation
+
Participating in team/project meetings
+
Maintain production operations documentation
+
Working with other members of technical staff on larger projects
+
Develop and maintain production system provisioning infrastructure
+
Provide significant input with respect to the architecture of production
environments
Requirements:
+
5+ years experience running production / commercial computing
+
5+ environments
+
Expert level knowledge of Linux (Red Hat/Fedora)
+
Knowledge of load balancing including LVS and Heartbeat
+
Intermediate level knowledge of Perl and/or Bourne shell scripting
+
Postfix
+
LDAP
+ Kickstart
+
DNS
+ NFS/NIS/SMB
+ Nagios Monitoring / Munin
+
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
+
Must have vehicle for transportation between Data
Center
and Main Office
Desired
qualifications:

SNMP monitoring (cacti, MRTG, etc...)
+
Backups - incremental and Disaster Recovery methodology
+
Windows 2003 and Active Directory
+
Knowledge of Red Hat Linux installation, automation, and configuration
+
Cisco IOS - basic administration of deployed switches
+
Tomcat / Resin, Apache 2
+ MySQL 4.1/5.0
+ Zimbra Collaboration Suite
