commercial software such as Adobe's "PhotoShop"(tm).
This talk will cover the basics of using version 1.2 of "The Gimp"
to create original compositions and retouch photographs, for use on
the web and elsewhere.
A follow-up talk will occur to discuss the more advanced features of
The Gimp, including using its built-in scripting tools to automate
image generation, to create original filters, and for batch-processing
collections of image files.
